Walter McClellan "Pork" Jones

Walter McClellan “Pork” Jones, age 85 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, May 25, 2026. Pork was born in Hamilton, Ohio on May 31, 1940 to Forest and Emma Jones. On August 28, 1959, he married his soulmate, Doris Taggart. They spent 64 wonderful years and raised five children, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren together. Pork was a mechanic by trade, but loved wood working, painting, and in his younger years was a pig farmer. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family – even if they were too loud and ran in and out of the house. He enjoyed camping, going to Hueston Woods, having picnic lunches with family and spending time at their property in Adams County. Pork will be remembered for his onery personality and enormous love for his family and friends.

Walter is survived by his children, Sandy (Jim) Stewart, Peggy (Greg Cummings) Winkler, Dennis (Jennifer Webb) Jones, Keith (Becky) Jones, and John (Tricia) Jones; his grandchildren, Jessica (Todd) Purkiser, Mike (Tonya) Rogers, Matt (Cara) Rogers, Marcie (Christian Scruggs) Rogers, Amber (Chase Method) Jones, Steve Jones, Tim (Morgan) Jones, Jacob (Sarah) Jones, Maggie (Jared) Moore, Hannah Jones, and Alyssa Jones; his great-grandchildren, Abigail, Jenna, Everett, Gabe, Charlie, Ben, Issac, Owen, Hadley, Lincoln, Tucker, Jackson, Felicity, Sophia, Audrey and Jonah; his wife’s siblings, Wanda Huffman, Wayne Taggart, Mike Taggart, and Ken Taggart; his sister-in-law, Joan Gibson; as well as many nieces, nephew, extended family members and friends.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years, Doris Jones; his daughter-in-law, Rae Jean Jones; his son-in-law, Mike Rogers; his siblings, Paul “Buck” Jones, Forest “Butch” Jones, Beatrice Houck, Virginia Bibee, Betty Huffman and Patty Jones; and his brother-in-law, Larry Taggart.
