Wanda F. Hampton

Wanda F. Hampton, age 77 of Hamilton, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Corbin, Kentucky on September 30, 1936 to Carl and Sarah Elizabeth (Sparks) McCarty. Wanda worked as a bus driver for Edgewood School District for 22 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Greenhills United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Evert Donald "Don" Hampton; son, Rev. Mark (Pam) Hampton; daughter, Donna Baker; grandchildren, Jacob Allen (Melissa) Hampton and Stacy Elizabeth (Justin) Wilson; brothers, J.T. (Sylvia) McCarty and Kenneth McCarty; and a sister, Margie (Estil) Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Delmer McCarty; and a sister, Mary Ellen McCarty.

Funeral service will be held at Greenhills United Baptist Church, 2087 Fenton Road, on Thursday May 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mark Hampton and Pastor Fred Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the church.
