Wanda Rush

Wanda Rush, age 86 of Fairfield, passed away at Doverwood Health Care on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Wanda was born in Rock Castle Co., Kentucky on March 31, 1931 to Arch Mullins and Edith (Wyan) Mullins. On April 15, 1948 in London, KY, she married Elbert Rush, and he preceded her in death in 2014. She retired from Sears Roebuck and Company after 30 plus years. Wanda enjoyed crocheting; was a member of Allison Ave. Baptist Church and worked in the church nursery for many years; and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Wanda is survived by her children; Elbert R. (Cindy) Rush Jr., Wanda (Bill) Sparks, JoAnne (Greg) Rand, Joyce (Gordy) Hacker, Brenda (Roger) Geisler; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carolyn Retherford; two sons in laws, Rick Parker and Tim Retherford; her siblings, Clara Payne, Fern Mullins, and Forest Mullins; and several half siblings.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Galen Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
