Wendell Clemmons

Wendell Clemmons, age 73 of Hamilton, passed away at his home on Monday, April 28, 2014. He was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on January 23, 1941 to Vernon and Drucilla (Gabbard) Clemmons. Wendell owned and operated Hamilton Provision Company for many years. He was an elder and very involved at Millville Avenue Church of God; and loved his church family. Wendell was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking in his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Clemmons; children, Teresa (Bill) Bishop, James (Tina) Steele, Michael (Penny) Steele, Denice (Alan) Whitaker, David (Phyllis) Clemmons, Deanna Blevins and Wendi (Jason) Austerman; 16 grandchildren; and many great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, William Tyson Bishop.

Visitation will be 5-8pm, Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton. Church family and friends are welcome to gather 12noon until time of service (1pm), Friday, May 2, 2014, at Millville Avenue Church of God, 1360 Millville Avenue with Pastor Joe Clark officiating.
