Wilburn Cook

Wilburn Curtis Cook, age 76 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. He was born in Hamilton on November 9, 1937 to William and Mabel (Gibson) Cook. On February 24, 1960 in Hamilton he married Charlene Gayle Stewart, and they were married for 54 years. Wilburn was a barber in Hamilton and Florida for 30 years, retiring in 1989.

He is survived by his children, Wilburn Curtis Cook Jr., William Craig (Carrie) Cook, Warren Christopher (Tonya) Cook, and Wayne (Aaron) Cook; wife, Charlene Gayle Stewart; a sister, Marilyn Hunter; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, especially Sandy Cook; and the Stewart family. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Marlin, Dickie, and Melvin Cook; and his parents.

A celebration of life service will be held at the High Street Baptist Church, 914 High Street, on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ronald Stewart officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the High Street Baptist Church.
