Wilburn Floyd Sr.

Wilburn Floyd Sr., age 81 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 9:15 AM. He was born in Estill County, Kentucky on April 16, 1926 the son of Hugh and Alethea (Hunt) Floyd. Wilburn retired from Sears and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edith (Triplett) Floyd of Hamilton; six children, Louella (Gary) Loney, Connie Lynn (Rick) Lakes, Wilburn (Ann) Floyd Jr., all of Hamilton, Marilyn Floyd, Johnny (Linda) Floyd, both of Kentucky, and Teddy Floyd of Ohio; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman (Berte) Floyd of Irvine, Kentucky; and three sisters, Margaret Gilbert of Irvine, Kentucky, Luola (Bluford) Lee and Vida (Bob) Egelston, both of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Floyd; and a sister, Marilyn Fox.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 12:00 noon with Rev.Randy Sapp of Tuley Road Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Wilburn’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Cincinnati for their care and support.
