William D. Bowling, age 68 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 11:30 PM. He was born in Hamilton on January 11, 1941 the son of William B. and Chesnie M. (Rice) Bowling. William was a graduate of Fairfield High School, and was employed as a salesman at Jim Dixon Lincoln/Mercury, and later worked at Mountain Tarp. He was a member of VFW Chuck Cain Post #7670 and attended First Church of God. On September 13, 1979 in Hamilton he married Kathleen Buell.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Bowling of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Samantha and Michael; three brothers, Ed (Pam) Bowling of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Dean (Renata) Bowling of Hamilton, and Jan Bowling of Hamilton; a daughter-in-law, Tammie (the late Mike) Buell of Trenton; a special niece, Kendra (Ron) Wilson of New Carlisle, Ohio; and many additional nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and neighbors, including his special friends Kaitlyn, Emily, and Cassidy. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mike Buell; and two brothers, Lowell Bowling and Johnny Bowling.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Mr. David Burk of First Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitations will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Tim Brown, Dr. Richard Sternberg, and to the First Church of God family for their care and concern.
