William Robert Goodpaster Jr.

William Robert Goodpaster Jr. age 57 of Fairfield Township passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 1:35 PM. He was born in Hamilton on May 29, 1952 the son of William Sr. and Lillie (Sturgill) Goodpaster. William was employed as a websphere administrator at Midland Company/American Modern Insurance Group. He was a loving father, good friend, and hard worker who loved his family. He enjoyed bowling, playing guitar, poker, reading science fiction and star gazing.

He is survived by a son, LCpl. Benjamin Kevin (Stephanie) Goodpaster, a Marine stationed in Hawaii; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Goodpaster of Cincinnati; a sister, Sue (David) Phipps of Hamilton; his former wife and longtime friend, Patricia McAllister; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Everett "Butch" Fannin; and his beloved dog, Oliver.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, immediately followed by a graveside service at Venice Cemetery with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 2300 Wall Street, Suite H, Cincinnati 45212.
