William Honchell

William E. Honchell, age 83 of Hamilton, passed away at his home on Monday, January 6, 2014. He was born in London, KY on July 18, 1930 to Estill and Wilma (Crook) Honchell. William was a naval veteran of the Korean War, and a Kentucky Colonel. On September 14, 1956 in Hamilton he married Gladys Johnson. William was a self-employed home builder for the majority of his career. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Honchell; sons, William Honchell Jr., and Steve (Marianne) Honchell; daughter, Lissa (Tim) Bowen; grandchildren, Maggie Evers, Drew Evers, Taylor Honchell, Mitchell Bowen, and Alex Bowen; brothers, Jim and Colin Honchell; and a sister, Dorothea Hampton. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ben and Fay Honchell; and his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
