William L. Huehn

William L. Huehn, age 93, of Hamilton passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. He was born in Hamilton on June 2, 1916 the son of William and Catherine (Schearer) Huehn. William was an Army veteran of WW II. He was employed as a machinist at Champion Paper for 40 years retiring in 1978. William was a member of VFW and Senior Citizens. On September 21, 1940 he married Mildred K. Manring who passed away on February 1, 2006.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol J. (Paul) Amstutz of Downer’s Grove, Illinois; two grandchildren, Amy (David) Cassel of Strongsville, and Robin Amstuts of Illinois; a great-grandson, Kyle Cassel; a sister, Joan Abner; two nephews, Michael (Linda) Raquet of Hamilton and Gary Manring of Georgia; three nieces Judith Parrett, Karen Raquet, and Gail Benton all of Florida; and several great-nieces and great-nephews including his name sake, William Craig Raquet. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and three sisters, Thelma Belew, Gertrude Elfers, and Marcella Gersbach.

Private services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. William’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Westover and the Colonial Foundation.
