William Q. Jones Jr., age 87 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, July 28, 2017. He was born in Hamilton on June 9, 1930 the son of William Quinn Sr. and Lillian (Conrad) Jones. William was a veteran of the United States Army from 1946 to 1947. He was employed as an electrician for Fisher Body for 27 years, retiring in 1987. On May 29, 1948 in Liberty, Indiana he married Mary Iona Shiplet.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Iona Jones, three children, Karen Sue Jones, Dennis William (Holly) Jones, and Brenda Lee. Burress; three sisters, Alberta Oliver, Jerry (Tom) Cornett, and Donna (Stan) Hacker; three grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Brandon Burress, and Erin (Joe) Burress McIntosh; and three great grandchildren, Grace, Lily, and Jace. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
