William P. "Uncle Bill" Miles

William P. "Uncle Bill" Miles, age 83 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday, May 22, 2007. He was born in Wilton, Kentucky on August 7, 1923 the son of Richard and Sarah (Cox) Miles. An Army veteran of World War II, Bill was an avid bingo player. On March 2, 1985 in Fairfield he married Phyllis A. Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Miles; two daughters, Paula (Earl) Haggard and Pamela (Danny) Weidner; two sons, Phillip (Rhonda) Miles and Perry Miles; a stepdaughter, Stacy Whipp; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Lafevers. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Miles; brothers, Tom, Earl, Sam, Ray, and Charles; and sisters, Myrtle, Frances, Ruby and Mae.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 9:00 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
