William R. Moore

William R. Moore, age 73 of Fairfield Township passed away at his residence on Saturday, August 9, 2008. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on October 20, 1934 the son of William G. and Lillian (Ritchey) Moore. William was a 1953 graduate of Hamilton High School and in 1955 he enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard serving 28 years, retiring in 1983 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was an accomplished Mechanical Designer with Ace Machine Tool Company, retiring in 1998. Bill was a licensed amateur radio operator (W8KVU) for over 50 years and belonged to numerous radio clubs. He was a Kentucky Colonel and member of Redeemer Church. On September 10, 1955 in Hamilton he married Carol Waterson.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Moore; daughter, Denise Barger; son, William Steven Moore and his wife Beth, all of Fairfield Township; grandson, Billy "Holden" Byers of Hamilton; great-granddaughter, Adrian Lea Fannin of Connersville, Indiana; sister, Mildred Sherlock and her husband Robert of North Canton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, William Barry Moore.

Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue on Monday, August 11 2008 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Kim Katterheinrich of Redeemer Church officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12 noon to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund at Redeemer Church, American Heart Association, or the Kidney Foundation. William’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Cincinnati, Drs. George Manitsas, Christopher Meirs, Bhupendra Mahida and Doug Feeney and their staffs.
