William L. "Bill" Morscher

William L. "Bill" Morscher, age 70 of Hamilton, passed away at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center on Thursday, February 6, 2014. He was born in Hamilton on May 3, 1943 to Lucius and Clara (Welsh) Morscher. He was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. Bill graduated from Hamilton Taft High School and worked at Liberal’s for 13 years. This job was the highlight of his life until health issues curtailed his employment. He remained friends with his co-workers and attended their monthly luncheons as long as his health permitted. He was a life member of The Monkey Mutual Aid Society, where he loved to bond with his friends and enjoy a Pepsi or two. Bill never met a stranger; everyone was his friend. Once introduced to him, he had the gift of never forgetting your face or name. Health issues forced him in and out of various caring facilities and nursing homes. His last 10 years were spent at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center. Their kindness, loving care and privileges to the family were greatly appreciated. The love of Bill’s life was his twin sister Barb who has always been by his side. She dedicated four days a week and many hours visiting him and helping whenever needed.

He is survived by his siblings, Thomas (Donna) Morscher, Diane (Stewart) Nolan, Barb (Harry) Baker and Nancy (Leonard) Proffitt; a special nephew, Eddie Baker; and many other nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton for their loving care.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30am, Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am, Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
