William H. Norton, age 86 of Hamilton passed away at Berkeley Square on Friday, November 13, 2009. He was born in Butler, Kentucky on September 7, 1923 the son of Clarence and Mary (Hill) Norton. William was a veteran of World War II with the United States Army Air Corp from 1943-1946. He was employed as a welder at Fisher Body for 38 years, retiring in 1986. William was a member of the Princeton Pike Church of God and the VFW Post 1069. In 1949 in Kentucky he married Norma J. Slater who preceded him in death in 1987 and in 1991 in Fairfield he married Henrietta Pennington and she preceded him in death in 2003.
He is survived by two children, Linda J. (Roger) Winkler of Oxford and Philip H. Norton of Hutto, Texas; three stepchildren, Randy (Donna) Pennington of West Chester, Charles Pennington of Apopta, Florida, and Larry Pennington of Bradenton, Florida; one brother, Robert (Betty) Norton of Butler, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Everett and Elmer Norton; one sister, Ruth Fryer; and stepdaughter, Carol Wooleuee.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kenny Henderson of Quest Church officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
