William S. Patterson

William S. Patterson, age 92 of Hamilton, passed away at Birchwood Care Center on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 3:20AM. He was born in Hamilton on September 28, 1923 to Nell (Overley) Ogg. He graduated from Hamilton High School in the class of 1941. He was a United States Army Air Force Veteran from 1943-1945, and he flew 30 missions as a radio operator in the European theater. William was employed at Mosler Safe Company for 34 years, retiring in 1985. He attended Grace United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and was a star pitcher in high school.

He is survived by his wife Thora Patterson; his children, Jane (Tip) Russell, Judy (John) Fudge, Steve (Tari) Patterson; one step son, Kirk (Denise) Bowman; five grandchildren, Rick (Michele) Russell, Randy (Kate Bretz) Russell, Andy (Sara) Patterson, Katie Patterson, Nicholas Bowman; and one great grandson, Seth Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Martha (Ziliox) Patterson.

Veteran service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 7PM. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 5PM-7PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
