William Earl Ratliff

William Earl Ratliff, age 59 of Middletown passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 3:45 PM. He was born in Corbin, Kentucky on November 4, 1949. Bill was employed as a carpenter with the Laborer’s Union Local #265, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Middletown. On August 24, 1979 in Camden he married Sue Rader.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Ratliff of Middletown; two children, James Preston (Brandy) Shackelford of Hebron, Kentucky and Robert Shane (Jennifer) Shackelford of Hamilton; his father, Roscoe Rucker of Somerville; two brothers, Frank Ratliff of Hamilton and Terry Ratliff of Mason; four grandchildren, Daniel, Erika, Brittany, and Jacob; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Rucker and brother, Lloyd Rucker.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jerry Back of Full Gospel Tabernacle officiating. Burial will follow at Somerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
