William "Wayne" Rommel

William "Wayne" Rommel, age 59 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton at Sunrise on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 8:37 PM. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on December 14, 1947 the son of James L. and Phyllis (Lunsford) Rommel. Wayne retired from Ford Motor Company in June, 2000 as a CNC lathe operator and was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. On April 20, 1968 in Hamilton he married Brenda Bryant.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Rommel of Hamilton; a son, Stephen Wayne Rommel of Fairfield; three daughters, Teresa Mischelle (Billy) Reynolds of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, Krista (Nick) Cox of Reading, Ohio and Catherine Rommel of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; his mother, Phyllis Rommel of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, Benjamin, and Charles; four brothers, James C. (Janice) Rommel, Daniel H. (Jennifer) Rommel, both of Hamilton, Kevin E. (Tonja) Rommel of Jackson, Tennessee, and Michael H. Rommel of Hamilton; a sister, Teresa M. (Douglas) Crawford of Hamilton; close friends Tom and Joy Sherman of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Hay, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 9:30 to 10:30 on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati 45263-3597 or to Society of St. Vincent DePaul, 1125 Bank Street, Cincinnati 45214.
