William Dean Scott

William Dean Scott, age 85 of Hamilton, passed away at Woodlands of Hamilton on Monday, April 3, 2017. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 16, 1932 the son of Willard and Mattie (Jarboe) Scott. William was a veteran of the Korean War with the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He was employed as the plant manager for Bluegrass Foods, retiring after ten years. On November 24, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky he married Betty Carol Lee. William was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan and enjoyed golfing and fishing with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Carol Scott; five daughters, Donna (Fred) Nickens of DuQuoin, Illinois, Debbie Gibbens of Tennessee, Denise Proffit of Hamilton, Diane Wilson of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Sandy (Marc) Burden of Hamilton; twelve grandchildren, Barry Duff, Dena Duff, Wendy (Jerry) Kelly, Keith (Jerri) Nickens, Brett Nickens, Tara Gibbens, Kerri (Ralph) Bockover, Chris (Rachelle) McClure, Brandon Masters, Bryan Masters, Marc Thomas Burden, and Nathan Burden; and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons-in-law, Ben Proffit and Jim Wilson; and fifteen siblings.

A memorial gathering will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
