William E. "Billy" Smith Jr.

William E. "Billy" Smith Jr., age 48 passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 22, 2009. He was born in Hamilton on June 12, 1961 the son of William Earl Sr. and Betty Sue (Johnson) Smith. Billy was a registered nurse and had a long career in Houston, Texas and in Hamilton and Cleveland, Ohio. He loved being a nurse and that career was perfectly suited to the compassionate and loving person that he was. Billy received many awards for his excellence in nursing and he touched many lives. He also believed strongly in respecting the environment and being a person of peace.

Billy leaves behind a daughter, Dewanna Spicer; a beautiful granddaughter, MJ, whom he loved deeply; four sisters who adored him, Ann (Bill) Vaughn, Cindy Lou Smith, Carla (Robert) Shamberger, and Donna Sue Marcum; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him. Billy treasured his miniature Dachshund, Lillie. She will be lost without him. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Danny W. Smith.

Funeral service will be held at the Hamilton Assembly of God, 1940 West Elkton Road, on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 6:30 PM with Rev. Linda Banks officiating. Cremation will follow.
