William Ray Whitaker

William Ray Whitaker, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on July 29, 2023 at Hospice of Cincinnati.  He was born in Hyden, KY on August 5, 1951 to Kathleen (Sturgill) and Ray Whitaker. He married Valorie (Eubanks) on October 23, 1976. They would have celebrated their 47th Anniversary this fall. They were each other's best friend. Ray was a hard worker and was employed at Hamilton Casters for 46 years, retiring in 2018.

Everyone that knew him would say that he's a "good man." He had a calm, patient nature. He loved to work on cars, watch documentaries and game shows and loved practical jokes. He was the best father to his two children and the perfect grandpa to his 8 grandchildren.

Ray is survived by his mother, Kathleen Chesnut, his wife, Valorie, his children, Kathy (Eric) Mullinix and Jeff (Linda) Whitaker, his grandchildren,  Kyle and Elijah Mullinix,  Ryan, Wesley,  Daniel,  Nathan, Natalie and Leah Whitaker, his two sisters, Brenda (Bob) Neugebauer and Debbie (Jim Mullins) Fisher, his sisters-in-law Linda Barker and Sue Gilbert, many nieces and nephews and his life-long friend, Arnold Dyer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Whitaker, his brother, Tom Whitaker, as well as his step-father, Bill Chesnut.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August  3, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, Millville Avenue.  A funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, August  4, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ron Pittman officiating.  Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Frederick Weber, Nurse Maria, Dr. Chad Dunkle, the caring staff at Hospice of Cincinnati and all of the family and friends who've shown love during this difficult time.
