William Lester Willis

William Lester Willis, age 95 of Fairfield passed away at Heartland of Woodridge on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 9:15 AM. He was born in Irvine, Kentucky on June 30, 1917 the son of Pious and Mamie (Rice) Willis. William was a veteran of World War II with the United States Army in 1945. He was employed as a foreman for the City of Hamilton Gas Department and then retired from Hamilton Foods.

He is survived by his two sons, James (Betsy) Willis of Fairfield and Merle (Joan) Willis of Coldwater, Michigan; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona (Cox) Willis in 1992; his parents; three daughters, Clara Jean, Marlene, and Judith Willis.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul Craig of Dayton, Ohio, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Heartland of Woodridge and Hospice of Heartland for their loving care and compassion.
