Yvonne Garrett

Yvonne Garrett, age 79 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:55 PM. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky on January 20, 1932 the daughter of Jess and Rachel (Couch) Turner. Yvonne was a homemaker and loved the Lord. On May 17, 1969 in New Miami, she married Harold N. Garrett.

She is survived by her husband, Harold N. Garrett; seven children, Sandy (Tom) Wells, Carol Hall, Kim Ledford, Billie Hayes, Tonya Cope, Vonda Cope, and Nina Barnes; two stepchildren, Kim (Don) Gentry and Randy (Mary) Garrett; a beloved nephew, James Couch; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Doug Cope; her twin brother, Bill Turner; and three sisters, Zona Glenn, Dolly Roberts, and Carzell Compton.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Valerie Trissell of God’s Temple officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
