Zella M. Tillery

Zella M. Tillery, age 86 of Hamilton passed away in Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 9:28 AM. She was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on June 22, 1925 the daughter of Arley and Martha (Strong) Collins. Zella attended the Pater Avenue Pentecostal Church, was a member of the Champion Old Timers Club, and was employed as a sorter at Champion Paper for 35 years, retiring in 1987. On July 26, 1943 in McKee, Kentucky she was married to George Tillery.

She is survived by her husband, George Tillery of Hamilton; one son, Michael Tillery; one daughter, Sue (Al) Molter, both of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Sandy Tillery, Paula (Scott) Garula, Lori (Matt) Ginter, Chris Tillery, Kim Molter, and Debbi (Chris) Casarcia; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gene Tillery in 1995; three brothers, Zepher, Zearl, and Zach; and one sister, Opal Gray.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Paul Marcum and Rev. Clarence Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice of Hamilton or to Fellowship Christian Church Food Pantry. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Hamilton and Dr. William Krall for their loving care and concern.
