Alec Jarvis

February 15, 1932 — March 23, 2007

Alec Jarvis, age 75 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 5:57 AM. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky on February 15, 1932 the son of John and Mae (Eversole) Jarvis. Alec was employed at Brock & Sons Construction for over 40 years, retiring in 1994. On July 27, 1967 in Jellico, Tennessee he was married to Audrey Gibson.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Jarvis of Hamilton; six children, Brenda Kay Hickman, Melba R. (Kevin) DeVault, both of Hamilton, Daniel C. (Deborah) LeRoy of Greenfield, Indiana, Lynn Delph, Sharon Kay Dorton, both of Rogersville, Tennessee, and Sheila R. (Bobby) Reeves of Oxford; two brothers, J.D. (Rosie) Jarvis of Hamilton and Charles (Debbie) Gregory of Naples, Italy; mother-in-law, Macie W. Gibson of Rogersville, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Jarvis; mother and stepfather, Mae and Moses Jackson; two brothers, Bige and Gordon Jarvis; and a sister, America Maxie.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, March 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Riley Parker, Pastor of Somerville Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
