Berwyn L. Lancaster

Berwyn L. “Burt” Lancaster Jr., age 69 of Hamilton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Burt passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on August 17, 1954 to Berwyn Lancaster Sr. and Peggy (Cox) Lancaster. Burt graduated from Battle Creek High School in Battle Creek, Michigan, and in 1996 he married the love of his life, Sandra Myers. He was a hardworking husband and father and retired after more than 24 years of service with the Hamilton City School District as the Head Custodian for Hamilton High School. Burt was very organized, had an eye for detail, and was very talented in designing and building/fixing things. He was a very kind and loving man who loved the Lord. Burt was a devoted husband and father, and family was his top priority. He dearly loved spending time with his dog, Jack. Burt was an avid sports fan who loved family game nights, bird watching, camping, cooking, and gardening.

Burt is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sandra Lancaster; children, David Osborne, Jennifer (Josh) Rawe, Jillian Lancaster, Nicole Lancaster, Eric Lancaster, Justin Lancaster and Kristopher Lancaster; grandson, Oliver Needham; siblings, Fred (Jan) Lancaster, Bonnie Askew, Bill (Joanie) Lancaster and John (Grace) Lancaster; his beloved dog, Jack; and numerous other relatives and friends. Burt was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio 45011. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Roy Van Winkle officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at UC Health and Christ Hospital for their care and compassion.
