Charles "Mike" Roe, age 72, passed away at home on Friday, August 13 with his wife Linda by his side.
He was born January 4, 1949 in Hamilton, Ohio to Marshall and Josephine (Townsend) Roe. He graduated from Mt. Healthy High School in 1967. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corp and fought in the Vietnam War from January 1969 to July 1969 when he was injured in the line of duty and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He married his childhood sweetheart, Linda (Metzcar) Roe on February 13, 1971 in Cincinnati, Ohio. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in February of this year.
He worked as a park ranger for Hamilton County Park District and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2000 after 20 years of service.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors and strived to instill that love in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall. He is survived by his mother, Josephine; his sisters Marsha (Howard) Wagner and Deborah (Jimmy) Edwards; his daughter Lisa Broughton; his son Scott (Lisa); grandchildren Misty, Randy, Ian, Diana, Mike, Alex, Cody, Dylan and great-grandchildren Liam, Logan, Lucas, Matthew and Dallas.
Join us in remembering Mike's life on Wednesday, August 18 from 1-3 at Brown, Dawson, Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. Hamilton, Ohio 45013. Mike has requested that his ashes be scattered in Rocky Mountain National Park, a place that he has always loved.
