Charles W. Smith

Charles Wayne Smith, age 73 of Connersville, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Charles was born in Patterson, Ohio on December 12, 1948 to Charles William Smith and Arzella Babb Smith. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1966 and went on to marry Peggy Ann Murrell on March 18, 1971. He made his career on the CXS Railroad and retired from there after 31 years of service.  During his time off he loved to read and channel surf.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Peggy Smith; his children and their spouses, Rodney and Jenna Smith, Denise and Larry Gibbs, and Valerie and Rick Davis; his grandchildren, Dakota, Jessica, Melody, Ricky, Alexis and Elizabeth; his mother, Arzella Babb Smith; and his brother, sisters, and their spouses, Les and Shelia Smith, Charlotte and Dennis Hubbs, Gloria and Mark Mulhaser and Vicki and Rod Bufler. Wayne was preceded in death by his father Charles William Smith, his brothers Doug Smith and Terry Smith, his granddaughter Emily Renee Carter and his best friend Llyod Prewitt.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Tim Eaton officiating.  Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.   Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com
