Chester S. Newton

Chester S. Newton, age 84 of Somerville, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Chester was born in Sparta, Kentucky on September 19, 1938 to Vernis Newton and Stella (McKinney) Newton. Chester worked at Krupp Hoesch and HP Duescher for many years, retiring in 2000. On September 16, 1972 in Somerville, he married Leona Carol Bennett, and she preceded him in death in 2020. Chester is survived by his children, John Newton, Cheryl (James) Collins, Darrell (Kristen) Newton, Cathy Spradling, Chester Mays, and Greg (Jessie) Newton; along with his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister Mafrey Gault. Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Vernis Newton and Stella Newton; and his brothers Carl Newton and Cleven Newton. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. Hamilton, Ohio, on Monday November 28, 2022, at 1:00PM with Pastor Chuck Cotton officiating. Burial will follow at Somerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday November 28, 2022, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
