Clifford Trent ("Smitty") Smith

Clifford Trent Smith “Smitty” “City Slicker”, 70, of Fairfield Township, passed away Friday February 4th,2022 at home with family, after struggling with a long-term illness.

Cliff was born in Philadelphia (the city of Brotherly love), Pennsylvania to Clifford and Sybil (Clark) Smith on October 22,1951. After high school graduation he enlisted in The U.S. Air Force. Cliff married the love of his life, Donna Stover, August 2,1970. Together they raised two children, Kelly and Erik. Cliff built a successful electronic business, Heartland Electronics, which he retired from in 2016. Cliff had an infectious passion for life and community. He participated in countless volunteer programs in his lifetime including Man to Man (a troubled youth organization), adult reading mentorship, Boy Scouts of America and S.A.Y. soccer. Cliff became an ordained minister, preforming several weddings for family and friends. Cliff spent countless hours hiking, kayaking, and camping across the U.S. Geocaching, where he earned several recognized awards. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, the Halloween trail tradition was a neighborhood highlight. Cliff enjoyed traveling, one of those memorable adventures was participation in an honor flight. His other extra curriculars throughout life included soccer, softball, online gaming and caring for animals.  Cliff never met a stranger or an obstacle too big to conquer. He would always have a helping hand, a listening ear, a joke, or adventure to share and if you were blessed to know him, you will never forget him.

Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Donna Smith, of Fairfield Township. Daughter, Kelly (James) Smith, Son, Erik (Corie) Smith, Brother Robin (Jewell) Smith; Eight grandchildren, Kellanna (Joshua) Shattuck, Kirian Estes, Eian Smith, Korina Armes, Evan Smith, Karma Armes, Nick (Alicia) Smith, and Nathan (Jordan) Smith; Seven Great Grandchildren, Clifford Shattuck, Lena Shattuck, Bryan Schnicke, Lyric Smith, Kallee Smith, Onyx Smith, and Jameson Smith; Numerous other family members and friends.

Memorial Service will be held April 23rd, 2022, Noon to 2p.m. for family members. Friends are welcome to pay their respects 2p.m. to 4p.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 1927 W. Kemper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45240.
