David Metzler, Sr.

David Metzler, Sr., age 68 of Hamilton passed away very suddenly at home on Friday, March 14, 2008. Dave was born in Hamilton on July 6, 1939, the son of Cloyd F. and Evelyn (Spaulding) Metzler. On April 4, 1959, he married the love of his life, Sandy Fowler. They met in Latin class at the old Hamilton High School in 1954 and had been together ever since. Dave and Sandy were the proud parents of Maribeth Metzler, PhD, and David (April) Metzler, Jr. In recent years they were blessed with two grandchildren, Joseph Andrew and Gabrielle Rose Metzler.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, Bob and Maymie Fowler, who loved him like a son. He is survived by his wife; children; grandchildren; brother, Paul (Judy) Metzler: brother-in-law, Terry Fowler; nephews, Bobby (Julie) Fowler, Keith Fowler, Karl (Carla) Metzler and Kurt (Iris) Metzler; niece, Stephany (David) Wright; four grand-nieces; and two grand-nephews.

Funeral service will be held at the Eaton Road Church of God, 2000 Eaton Road, on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Dale French officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Eaton Road Church of God Building Fund or Memorial Garden Fund, 2000 Eaton Road, Hamilton OH 45013.
