David Trimmer Obituary

David C. Trimmer age 80, passed peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2021, surrounded by the ones he loved.

David was born, March 11, 1941, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Charles Trimmer and Jane (Dawson) Trimmer.

He grew up with his lifelong buddies in the Armondale neighborhood. They shared a priceless childhood including paper routes, Boy Scouts and many summers at Myron Kahn Boy Scout Camp. David achieved the distinguished level of Eagle Scout. He attended Hamilton High School and was a member of the class of 1959 achieving the highest of academic honors including a full scholarship to the University of Cincinnati.

Following a co-op experience at Armco he accepted full-time employment and excelled at every project he was a part of. At the young age of thirty-four he moved his family to the Philippines with the responsibility of supervising the construction of two steel plants. Following that assignment his projects  included Russia consulting, in a state of the art steel plants, two year commitment in Cairo Egypt which culminated in the design and construction of eight  hospital projects. The twilight of his career included various assignments throughout Latin America.

As busy as David became he always made time for service projects including Founders Day, Arbor Day, and also volunteering with YMCA and YWCA maintenance projects.

He and Shirley spent many years enjoying camping and the the love of water with family and friends.  David built with the partnership of his father a camper and later owned several large travel trailers. Many weekends were spent on several sailboats over decades one of which he designed and built in his garage .

There are many photo memories of pure joy supporting grandchildren interests. Jessica and Little Grandpa" shared every Saturday watching the Buckeyes and Bearcats play college football and Sundays loving Peyton Manning and more recent energy spent cheering the Colts on to better days. He never missed a football game or travel baseball competition  where grandson Adam played. Hunter enjoyed great support from Grandpa at her Indianapolis Children's Choir performances, Middle and High school plays and musicals and solos as well as the creation of her debut album due out this  week.

Music was always playing in his home, he loved music that has shaped the lives of his daughters and grandchildren. He built computers, guitars, organs speakers and anything else he could think that made noise and created smiles. He didn't buy things and service he made things and was "the service" for real and  anticipated needs of everyone  who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Rader) Trimmer, Daughters Denise and Dawn. The true joy in his life were the grandchildren he was blessed with. Jessica of Carmel, In., Hunter of Manhattan NY and Adam of Springboro, Ohio.

Additionally, Shirley and David shared many years full of love from their two beloved yellow Labradors Duke and Cody both who preceded David in death earlier this year.
