Dennis E. Grimes, age 84 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 15, 1939 to George Grimes and Betty (Puthoff) Grimes. Dennis graduated from Hamilton High School in 1957. He spent some time living in Florida carrying out his banking career. After moving back to Hamilton, he continued banking and as the owner of Rosebud Stables, he enjoyed racing his thoroughbreds. Dennis was a member of the Hamilton and Cincinnati Elks as the past Exalted Ruler

Dennis is survived by his wife of 20 years, Gina L. Grimes; his children, Richard Grimes, Dianne (Larry) Grant, Lisa (Bryan) Waldron, their mother, Dulce Grimes, and Vinnie (Lexi) Schopin; grandchildren, Erika, Daniel, Jennifer (Thomas) Irwin, Justin Grant, Jason (Karin) Grant, JoAnna (Curtis) Likar, Jon’Paul Grimes, Jacob Waldron, and Nick Schopin; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Jayden, Aubree Irwin, Jack and Ryan Grant, Olivia Geary, Baker and Grace Grant, Benjamin and Bradley Liker, and Elba Grimes.

He is also survived by his brother, Gary (Mary Ellen) Grimes; sister, Nancy (Dale) Dougherty; nieces, Kathy and Megan Dougherty.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty Grimes and his nephew, Brandon Dougherty.

Burial will be held privately.
