Diane L. Gillespie , age 66 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, May 22, 2023. Diane was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 23, 1956 to Arthur Barnaclo and Joyce (Skinner) Barnaclo. She graduated from North College Hill High School in 1975 and went on to marry Jim Gillespie in November of 1978. Diane was a devoted mother and was often referred to as “Momma Gillespie” by those closest to the family. She was also a loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Diane enjoyed animals, reading, gardening, bird watching, and flowers. She loved the holidays, music (especially Motown), the Cincinnati Bengals, and spending time with her loved ones.
Diane is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jim Gillespie; children, Jennifer Gillespie, Michael Gillespie, and Daniel (Mia) Gillespie; grandchildren, Alex, Kailey, Blair, Brady, Brooklyn, Bellamy, and Finley; siblings, Susan Bales, Tina (Jeff) Brummett, Randy Barnaclo, Bev (Jerry) Brummett, Steve (Mary) Barnaclo, and Tammy (Jeff) Hayes; brother-in-law, Michael (Cathy) Gillespie; her aunt, Kim (Dave) Pierce; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Joyce Barnaclo; in-laws, Raymond and Lucille Gillespie; brother-in-law, Dewey “Jim” Bales; and her nephew, Timothy Lerch.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio 45013, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 12:00 PM with David Damron officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jennifer Winters, Dr. Arun Sendilnathan, and the staff at Hospice of Hamilton for their extraordinary care.
