Donald Potter Obituary


Donald E. Potter, loving husband of Sheila Potter (nee Steinman), father of Jason (Stephanie) Potter, grandfather of William Potter, passed away at his home in Liberty Township, Ohio on September 23, 2022 at age 90. Donald was predeceased by his father Clarence Potter and mother Helen Potter (Rush).


Born on February 6, 1932, Donald grew up in the Brooklyn Centre area of Cleveland, Ohio. Moving to Cincinnati to pursue his education, Donald and Sheila were married in 1961 and settled in Pleasant Ridge. Donald graduated from the University of Cincinnati Engineering School in 1964 and worked as an architectural engineer with Fosdick & Amp; Hilmer Contracting Engineers for 40 years. He was an active member and Deacon of Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening, reading, sketching and woodcarving. Always eager to lend a hand, he will be missed by family and friends.


A Memorial Service will be held at Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church, 5950 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45213, on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Nicholas Yoda officiating. All are invited to participate in fellowship with the family following the service at the church in Heritage Hall. The family encourages memorial contributions be made to your local library, or to Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church.
