Donna Swindoll

Donna Swindoll, age 88 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, July 4, 2011 at 2:02 AM. She was born in London, Kentucky on November 24, 1922 the daughter of Edward and Nancy (Robinson) McCowan. Donna was employed as a custodian for Miami University in Oxford and Hamilton for 11 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #36 Auxiliary and the Amvets Post #2 Auxiliary. In 1941 in Knoxville, Tennessee she married Elbert Bryant and he preceded her in death in 1971. In 1975 in Hamilton she married James E. Swindoll and he preceded her in death in 1996.

She is survived by five children, Arthur (Wanda) Bryant of Hamilton, Patrick (Maida) Bryant of Norfolk, Virginia, Bruce (Irene) Bryant of Hamilton, Joel (Cindy) Bryant of Blue Ridge, Virginia, and Sandi (Robert) Wright of Fairfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Judy Schurl of Middletown and Brenda Hodge of Hamilton; two sisters, Opal Dugger of London, Kentucky and Thelma Alexander of Savannah, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Douglas Bryant and Carol Crane; grandson, Jack Robert Crane; stepson, Raymond Swindoll; and sister, Edna Byrd.

Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at 4 Main at Fort Hamilton Hospital for all their care and support.
