Douglas W. Harris

Douglas W. Harris, age 72 of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 . Doug was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 27, 1951 to John Harris and Emma (Thompson) Harris. He served in the United States Air Force, where he met El (Enmark) Harris, while stationed in Thailand. Doug was an avid sports and Pittsburgh Steelers fan who enjoyed fishing, playing cards, music, attending car shows, and watching black and white sitcoms. After retiring from the City of Hamilton, he became a staple at Gina’s Italian Restaurant alongside many of his close friends. Doug was a lifetime member of the Monkeys Mutual Aid Society and a member of AMVETS Post 1983.

Doug is survived by his children, Angela (Greg) Martin, Patricia (Scott) Gibbons, April (Kirk) Risen and James (Kim) Harris, and their mother, El Harris; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Alan) Hulett; brother, Lonnie (Kaye) Harris; sister-in-law, Wanda Harris; best friend and brother from another mother, Dick (Karen) Herzog; and numerous other family and loyal friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Mae Harris; brother, Charlie Harris; brother-in-law, Donald Byrd; and sister-in-law, Davene Harris.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, April  9, 2024 at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April  9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
