Emma Rose Creech, age 86 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, September 10, 2020. Emma was born in Breathitt Co., Kentucky on February 11, 1934 to Lee Adams and Mattie Johnson. She attended school in Owsley Co., Kentucky and on June 24, 1950 she married Congress Creech in Booneville, Kentucky.
Emma worked for several years at Hillandale Nursing Home and in 1978 she went to work at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield where she retired in 1999. Emma enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her flower beds and traveling with her sister.
Emma is survived by her children, Congress J. Creech and daughter in law Lynn Creech, and Darlene Jones all of Hamilton. Her grandchildren Mark Ante (Tammy Raines) of Panama City Beach, FL; Tracy Barger of Hamilton, OH; Jessica Geurin (James) of Cincinnati, OH and Nida Patel (Ryan Gibson) of Trenton, OH. Her siblings Jane Baker of Connersville, IN; Mary Ellen Lane of Nashville, TN; JD Stamper of Waterloo, IN; Gene Riley (Diane) of Columbia, SC and Elizabeth Riley of Beattyville, KY; sister’s in law Betty Farler of Arkansas and Sue Ballenger of Hamilton, OH; brothers in law Ray Creech of Oxford, OH and Wendell Creech (Barbara) of Homosassa, FL. Numerous nieces and nephews as well as several special friends from church.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Adams and Mattie Johnson, her husband, Congress Creech, her sister Rhoda Gould of Cynthiana, KY; sisters in law Annaboyd George of Hamilton, OH, Elizabeth Campbell of Hamilton, OH; brothers in law Cecil E. Creech of Booneville, KY; Donald J. Creech of Lerose, KY; and Billy Norman Creech of Little Rock, AR. A very special friend, Ruth Abrams of Hamilton, OH.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 12:30pm with Rev. Jake Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
