Eunice Sweet

Eunice Sweet, age 78 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, April 7, 2011. She was born in London, Kentucky on October 11, 1932 the daughter of Caddie and Lillie (McCowan) Lewis. Eunice was the owner/operator of Eunice’s Ceramics. She also enjoyed quilting and was a member of Stahlheber Baptist Church. On June 3, 1949 in London, Kentucky she married Ray Sweet, and he preceded her in death in 1993.

She is survived by a son, Gary Sweet of Hamilton; a brother, Delmas (Flonnie) Lewis of Corbin, Kentucky; a sister, Del (Harvey) Arvin of Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews as well as her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Delford Lewis; and a sister, Imogene Proffitt.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Harold Thompson of Stahlheber Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Eunice’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of the 4th floor of Ft. Hamilton Hospital, and her Stahlheber Baptist Church family.
