Harry Thurman, Jr. Obituary

Harry L Thurman, Jr age 79 of Hamilton passed away on Sunday February 18, 2024.  Harry was born in Richmond, Kentucky on October 21, 1944, to Harry Lee Thurman Sr and Anne Jane (Peters) Boshers.

Harry was well known and liked as a bus driver of the Hamilton Bus Company until it closed in 1996.  He then worked for BCRTA, Fort Hamilton Hospital, Case Trucking and Community First as a Driver.  Harry received an honorable discharge as a member of the United States Marine Corp.  Harry loved to share the stories of when he was a semi-professional wrestler under the name Don McKenzie Nature Boy.  He is a retired member of the Fugueros Motorcycle Club.  Harry enjoyed bowling and was in many leagues over the years.  Harry took great pride in his work caring for flags on veteran memorial signs along roads in Butler County.  He saw a need and took it upon himself to spend countless hours ensuring the flags were secure and replaced as needed.   Sheriff Richard K Jones wrote him a letter thanking him for volunteering to be the Guardian of the Memorials.  Harry loved God, honored his country and stood for what he believed in.

Harry is survived by his wife, Sherry Thurman; sons, Michael Thurman and Harry Lee Thurman III; daughters, Crystal (Keith) McKinney and Heather Bates; granddaughter, Keira McKinney; grandson, Colton McKinney; brothers, Charles Thurman, Danny Boshers and Matthew Boshers; along with extended family and friends.  Harry is preceded in death by his father, Harry Lee Thurman Sr; mother, Anne Jane (Peters) Boshers; sisters, Marie Thurman, Rosemary Boshers, Theresa (Gerald) Glenn; and brother, Dennis Boshers.
