Helen B. Rains

Helen B. Rains, age 83 of Hamilton, passed away at her residence on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Helen was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 4, 1938 to Henry and Martha (Lipphardt) Besanceney.  Helen graduated from Hamilton High School in 1956.  She was a telephone operator, and worked at Fairfield Deli for many years.  On October 5, 1957 at St. Stephens Catholic Church, she married Ben Rains.

Helen is survived by her husband Ben Rains; her children, Linda Mary (Joe) Collins, Sandra Jean (Mike) Lawall,  Matthew Paul Rains, and Christina Lynn (Carl) Walsh; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and three siblings, Henry Besanceney, Jean Anne Grubbs, John Besanceney; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Anita Spivey. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013. Friday Visitation from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at the church, and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM held at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton St., Hamilton, Ohio, with Father Hoffman celebrant. Memorial contributions can be made to the ALS Foundation.
