James G. Eliopoulos

James G. Eliopoulos, age 83 of Middletown passed away in Middletown Regional Hospital on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 1:30PM. He was born in Middletown on March 7, 1924, the son of George and Georgia (Triantos) Eliopoulos. Jim was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church and the Order of Ahepa of the Church; was a 1943 graduate of Middletown High School; was a veteran of WWII with the United States Army from 1943 to 1946; a member of the American Legion Post #218. Jim was the owner-operator of Broadway Market for ten years and then became the operator of the Linden Bowling Lanes for thirty years retiring in 1992.

On December 30, 1949 in Middletown, he was married to Louise Turman. He is survived by his wife, Louise Eliopoulos of Middletown; two daughters, Kay (Thomas) Sauer of Middletown and Constance (Lewis) Rosenbloom of Mason; two sisters, Mary Kucer of Middletown and Nena Gaspar of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, Jimmy Lockard of California, Angela (Steve) D’Orazio of Cincinnati and Mike Burton of Cincinnati; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Isaiah. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Peter and Arthur Eliopoulos and one sister, Dena Kakoliris.

Funeral services will be held at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Grand Ave. Middletown on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 11:30AM with Rev. Father Gregory S. Patsis, Celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10AM to 11AM. A graveside service following the Mercy Meal at church will be held in the Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, Ohio. The family requests memorials to Sts. Constantine and Helen GreekOrthodox Church.
