Jeanne Roberts

Jeanne Holdefer Roberts, age 76 of Hamilton, passed away at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center on Monday, August 23, 2021. Jeanne was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 17, 1944 to Charles and Irma Leonhardt Holdefer. She was a graduate of Taft High School and attended Hamilton Business College.  Jeanne had briefly been employed at Ohio Casualty and as a preschool teacher assistant/bookkeeper for many years at Front Street Presbyterian and later a store manager at Windover Cottage in Millville and Porcellana on Main Street in Hamilton. Jeanne was a member of the Internal Order of the Rainbow, Washington Chapter #195, O.E.S.  She had a zest for life, spoke her mind and was witty with her comebacks. Jeanne was also a fighter, overcoming many “battles” including 16 years of remission from breast cancer.  She loved to travel and looked forward to her annual trips with her daughter and grandchildren. Jeanne above all, enjoyed spending time with her daughter, her beautiful granddaughter, her “favorite” grandson and her “bobblegush” her youngest grandson.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Elise (Steve) Martin and Charles Roberts; her grandchildren, Heidi (Pasha) Katehakis, Blake and Carson Martin; her brother, George (Marnie) Holdefer. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother James M. Holdefer.

A graveside service will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Dementia Society of America, the Foundation for Women’s Cancer, or Hospice of Dayton or Middletown. Family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center, Hospice of Dayton and Hospice of Middletown for their exceptional care and compassion.
