Jerome Lee Bennett, age 69, passed away on May 27, 2023, at Hospice of Hamilton, Ohio. He was born on August 1, 1953, at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Arthur and Ida Bennett. Jerome graduated from Roger Bacon High School in St Bernard, Ohio, and later attended Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary.
Jerome served in the US Marines from June 27, 1974, to June 26, 1978, as an Aircraft Welder. After his military service, he worked at GE Aircraft Engine Group in Instrumentation for over 20 years.
Jerome was a hard-working man who loved to help friends and strangers alike. He was a member of NA and AA, and he received his 19th year Sobriety Medallion in May 2023. Additionally, Jerome was a Lifetime Member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Kentucky, which provided him a quiet respite and lots of outdoor activities that he was willing to share with many. Experiencing his great big bear hugs were memorable.
Jerome was a devout Christian, and his family and his AA Community were his joy. He loved to spread the Gospel and talk about his Jesus. He worshipped every day and at every opportunity, and he was not limited to place or time.
Jerome is survived by his brothers, Steve (Priscilla) Bennett and Tom Bennett; sisters, Regina (Jay) Townsend and Joyce Langdon; nephews, Rik, Rob, and Randy Vayo, Robert Langdon, and Ron Bennett; nieces, Christine Fiorini, Jennifer Schneider, Katy Johnson, Jennifer Utek, Heather Bennett, Lisa Buchanan, and Erin Bennett-Kuhlman; and many great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ida Bennett; sisters Joyce (died at age 2) and Patricia Bennett Vayo; and brother, Ron Bennett.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Wendell Coning officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
