Joy D. Schatz

Joy Darlene Schatz, age 81 of Fairfield, was called home on Friday, August 25, 2023. Joy was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 4, 1942 to Elbert and Ardela (Steele) Stewart. Joy was an avid gardener, a professional yard saler and thrift store shopper, to help those in need. She took pride in being a supporter of Ross football and Millville baseball. Above all, Joy loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joy is survived by her children, Karen Bryant and George Schatz; her sister, Gayle Cook; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Billy, Julie, Emily, Mary and Sabryna; her great-grandchildren, Austin, Kody, Madison, Peyton, Caden, Cameran, Stormi, Kyla, Cole, Sawyer, Tieren, Theorie, Tank, Takota, Carlee, Chloee, Easton and Reign; and many nieces and nephews. Joy was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse of 30 years, George R. Schatz; her son, Billy Campbell; and her siblings, Jack, Ron, Junior, Skeeter and Darrell.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM.  Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Hope Shot Recovery Motorcycle Ride, at https://fringeindustries.org/give.
