Joyce Parsons

Joyce Parsons, age 84 of Liberty Township, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023. Joyce was born in London, Kentucky on January 8, 1939 to Guy Greene and Nanny (DeZarn) Greene.  On April 20, 1957 in Jelicho, Tennessee she married the love of her life, Ray Parsons. She was a faithful member of the Walden Ponds Nazarene Church and held many roles there, such as leading Junior Church, teaching the senior adults, Joy Ministries, and various other positions. Joyce loved baking, reading, and going to Gatlinburg.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ray Parsons; son, Russell (Nancy) Parsons; her precious granddaughter, Katie (Andrew) Parsons; brother, Gene Greene; sister, Janet Greene; beloved friend, Lois (the late Harville) Duncan; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Bob Greene, Charles Greene, Doris Marcum, Jimmy Greene, Kenneth Greene, Lois Johnson and Mack Greene.

Visitation will be held at Walden Ponds Community Church of the Nazarene, 6590 Walden Ponds Circle, Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 immediately after the visitation at 12:00 PM with Pastor David Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Walden Ponds Community Church of the Nazarene.
