Lucy Colwell

Lucy Colwell, age 60 of Monroe passed away at her residence on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 1:35 PM. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky on December 13, 1950 the daughter of Brown and Rinda Eldridge. Lucy was employed as an STNA at Hawhtorn Glen Nursing Center for twenty years. On June 27, 1967 in Hazard, Kentucky she married Herman Colwell.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Colwell; two children, Peggy (John) Mullins and James Colwell; all of Monroe; three brothers, Boone Eldridge of Busy, Kentucky, Marshall (Sharon) Eldridge of Viper, Kentucky, and Burtis Eldridge of Austin, Indiana; two sisters, Delphia Pratt of Viper, Kentucky and Ruth (Chester) Hicks of Hindman, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Crystal, Randall, Koby, and Casey; and a great-granddaughter, Kaylee. She was preceded in death by her parents and two children, Herman Jr. and Lana Colwell.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Engle Walker Funeral Home, 301 East Main Street, Hazard, Kentucky. Funeral service will be at Engle-Walker Funeral on Thursday at 10:00 AM.
