Oscar Beckelhymer

Oscar Beckelhymer, age 90 of Cincinnati, passed away at Drake Center on Friday, August 14, 2020. Oscar was born in Irvine, Kentucky on December 2, 1929 to Ansel Beckelhymer and Parrott (Logsdon) Beckelhymer. On November 7, 1953 in Irvine, Kentucky, he married Iona June Metcalf, and she preceded him in death in 1998. He worked at Pease Ever Straight Doors for over 40 years. Oscar was an avid University of Kentucky fan, and his favorite restaurant was Kentucky Fried Chicken. He loved attending church and listening to Southern Gospel music.

Oscar is survived by his children, David Beckelhymer, Ken (Lisa) Beckelhymer, Kitty Newlen; son in law, Howard Troutman; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Heather) Troutman, Maggie (Chris) Vaughn, Tim (Amy)Troutman, Tracy (Chris) Umbstead, Dustin (Laura) Beckelhymer, John (Amber) Beckelhymer, Sean Swigart, Michelle (Randy) Dalton, and Jeremy Scherzinger; 16 great grandchildren; Carson, Lilly, Donovan, Scarlet, Alison, Joseph, Dustin, Rebekka, Cheri, Kaleb, Makynna, Blake, Kyle, Nakai, Liberty, and Colton; and one brother, Sturlen (Peggy) Beckelhymer; and sister in law, Nannie Tolley. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Janice Troutman; and 13 brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Tim Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
