Pastor Richard “Butch” Coldiron, age 80 of New Miami, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 17, 2023. Known to many as Butch, he was born in Middletown, Ohio on June 11, 1942 to the late Estill and Mildred (Steele) Coldiron. Richard went to work at AK Steel at an early age. He spent over 30 years at the mill and retired in the early 2000’s. During his time at the mill he began his ministry career at Redeemer Baptist Church in New Miami as a Sunday School teacher. Later, he became the full-time pastor, a role that he would faithfully fulfill for over 20 years. He was dedicated to his church and its members and would often visit the sick and those that were homebound.
Richard will be dearly missed by his siblings, David (Janet) Coldiron, Robert Coldiron; Elaine Sivak; his loving companion and ‘his girl’, Minnie Tabor; his grandchildren, Crystal Pendergrass, Mica (Nick) Fields, and September Pendergrass; his dear friend, Barbra Trent, as well as many great grandchildren, extended family members and close friends.
Richard is reunited in Heaven with his daughter, Pamela Pendergrass and her mother, Darlene Coldiron; his brothers, Jack Coldiron, Ron Coldiron and Greg Coldiron.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM until the time of his Funeral service at 2:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio with Pastor Russell Tabor officiating.
