Richard Henry Hancock, age 75 of Cincinnati, passed away at University of Cincinnati on Saturday, June 25, 2022. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 17, 1946 the son of Charles and Sara Frances (Gibson) Hancock. Rick was a graduate of Garfield High School and served honorably in the US Air Force. He had several careers throughout his life but retired from DFAS in Columbus, Ohio. Anyone who knew Rick, knew that he had a great sense of humor, which will be missed. He had a love for all sports and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play, as they grew up.
Rick is survived by three daughters, Penny (Todd) Fannon, Becky (Steve) Myers, and Cindy Hancock; eight grandchildren, Erica (Brady) Mudra, Jessica Fannon, Corey (Kelsey) Hancock, Isaiah and Jordan Johnson, Sean, Brendan, and Julia Myers; two great grandchildren, Ella and Landon; beloved nephew, Arnold and beloved niece, Crystal and numerous other nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Also dear to his heart was his late wife, Mary Hancock; her children, Patrick, Michael, and Diana; her grandchildren, Grace, Rachel, and Jackson; and her brother Frank and his family. Rick was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, Leroy, Charles, James, Shirley, Wilma, and Connie.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, 1602 Greenwood Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends please meet at the gravesite located in Section J along Greenwood Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to the American Diabetes Association.
